Grace (Jeff Buckley Cover)

Former Captain Beefheart guitarist Gary Lucas was asked to play at a memorial service for 70's troubadour Tim Buckley. There he met Tim's son Jeff. They became friends and began to collaborate musically.
Lucas had written a piece of music called Rise Up To Be which he handed to Jeff, who added words and changed the song title to Grace. And You Will became Mojo Pin.
After leaving Lucas' band Gods & Monsters, Buckley made one solo album.
In 1997 Buckley drowned in the Wolf River Harbour Memphis. Favorite track: Grace (Jeff Buckley Cover).

epseja This song is a workout for even the most accomplished vocalist. Singing it straight will garner kudos, but to really do it justice, you need to bear your soul -- and Ché does just that with a sultry, tortured, smoldering angst.

Hassles I am so enamoured by the artist and have so much respect for her work that I just have to have anything she does.

about

“Jeff Buckley is one of my musical heroes,” said Dorval. “His songwriting and his vocal style have definitely had a huge impact on my writing style, and “Grace” has always been one of my favourite songs from him. I tend to write more melancholic, downtempo things so rarely do I get a chance to really use my voice with such intensity and power, so covering this live felt amazing.”

Recorded at the album release party for Between The Walls and The Window @ the Cobalt in Vancouver (2018)
